Holiday wonder and learning The AlpenAkademie Südbünden aims to promote cultural and educational tourism in the southern Grisons. The region comprises the Bergell valley, Engadin St. Moritz, Poschiavo valley, ENGADIN/Scuol, Müstair valley and Samnaun valley. It is one if the most beautiful and varied holiday regions in Switzerland. A massive 3,496 metres in altitude separate the region’s lowest point (Campascio, Poschiavo valley, 553m above sea level) from its highest (Piz Bernina, 4,049m above sea level). AlpenAkademie Geoparc The Engadin and the southern valleys of the Grisons area offer a wide array of landscape features encompassing geology, tectonics, mineralogy, glaciers, permafrost, geomorphology, hydrology and natural hazards: this is a real geology park, hence the name. In this open-air laboratory, you will also find biological and zoological treasures, such as high moorland and plant conservation areas, bird nesting sites of Europe-wide importance and amphibian biotopes.
