Ecological-path - Electricity

A walk along Switzerlands first ecological electricity storage power station from Ospizio Bernina to Cavaglia.

During the walk through some of Switzerlands most beautiful mountain landscapes, you'll discover what ecological electricity is and how it's produced.

Your body burns 0.34 kilowatt-hour, or 295 calories, from the Bernina Pass to Cavaglia. With the energy from 4 apples or a chocolate bar you can recharge your batteries.

Did you know already how ecological electricity can be produced from cow dung, how electricity arrives at your socket, how the Bernina rail came into being or why water-power in truth solar energy is?

The answer to these and other questions are to be found on the twelve information boards situated along the "eco-energy" path in upper Valposchiavo.

Follow the power of the water from Lago Bianco to the "cooking pots of the giants", (glacier garden), in the Cavaglia plain.
